When will I receive tenant token payments?
Payments to landlords are processed on the 1st day of each month. If the 1st falls on a
weekend or public holiday, payment will be made on the next working day.
Can I view my tenants’ transaction history?
Yes. EGS provides detailed transaction
statements per tenant, including purchase amounts, dates, and timestamps.
Can I get login access to view transactions?
Yes. Login credentials (username and password) can be provided upon request, allowing you to securely access your transaction data.
How do I request a tamper code?

How do I activate a Hexing meter after installation?
After installation, activate the meter by entering 865 on the keypad and pressing the red button.
My Hexing meter is beeping continuously. How do I stop it?
Enter 812 on the keypad and press the red button to silence the alarm.
What do the LED indicators on a Hexing meter mean?
- Green LED (steady): Credit above 30 kWh
- Red LED (steady): Credit between 15Wh and 30 kWh
- Red LED (flashing): Credit below 15 kWh
- Buzzer sound: Credit below 5kWh
How do I pair or unpair a Hexing DIN rail meter with the CIU/keypad?
- To pair: Enter the 11-digit meter number and press the red button
- To unpair: Enter 18075773902 and press the red button
Note: Pairing enables communication between the CIU and the meter, while unpairing disconnects it.
Can I replace a municipal or Eskom meter with an EGS meter?
No. EGS meters are designed for sub-metering only and cannot replace municipal or Eskom meters.
How does sub-metering work?
The main (municipal or Eskom) meter records total property consumption. Sub-meters measure electricity usage for individual tenants or specific areas.
The total of all sub-meter readings should closely align with the main meter’s
total consumption.
Can I request a Key Change Token (KCT)?
Yes. KCT requests can be processed upon request. Please note that an administration fee applies.
